Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you enter a name, a birth year, or a case number into one of the search tools on this site, the entry goes straight to the third-party provider that runs that search. The provider processes the request and returns the results. We do not store or log the terms you enter, and we cannot see what a partner does with them once they leave your browser.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we keep the message so we can write back. It stays with our team. We do not pass it outside the organization unless a legal obligation forces it, and we do not add your address to a mailing list.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page loads, our servers record a few technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- The browser you use and its version
- Your operating system and device type
- Which pages you opened and how long each stayed on screen
- The site that referred you here, if there was one
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, the small files a site stores on your device. They help us see how visitors move through the pages, which topics draw the most readers, and where people leave. Analytics services pull that traffic into aggregate numbers. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time. A few parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Passing your search request to the partner service that handles it
- Learning which pages readers find useful and which need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Showing advertising that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant-record information. We publish general guidance about where Oscoda County warrant records are held, and how to check them with the sheriff's office, the 81st District Court, the 23rd Circuit Court, or the Family Division. Anything in this site that describes records access points back to the public body that holds the record.
Those public bodies answer records requests under Michigan's Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq., and the Michigan Court Rules. That law governs the sheriff and the county offices, not this site. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors is assembled into a consumer report or a file on any third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on this site are run by outside companies. Whatever you enter into one of those tools is processed under the partner's privacy policy, not this one. Those companies set their own retention periods and their own sharing rules, and we have no control over either. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to sheriff's office pages, Michigan court portals, state agencies, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Following any of those links takes you off this site, and from that point the other site's privacy policy applies. Read it before you share personal details there.
Some advertising partners may track activity across sites to target ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A few categories of information may reach other parties:
- Search partners that handle the queries you run here
- Analytics services that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place advertising on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices to protect what we collect. No site connected to the internet is completely safe, though. We do what we reasonably can to keep your information secure, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Michigan's public-records law, the Freedom of Information Act at MCL 15.231 et seq., applies to records held by state and local public bodies. It does not reach a privately run site like this one. Even so, we will honor these requests about the limited information we hold:
- Ask for a copy of what we have about you
- Have us correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the site changes. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date. Check back if you want to follow how we handle information.
